Matt Griffin is an internationally recognised award-winning multimedia artist and author from Ireland. 

His work has garnered awards and accolades as a specialist in fantasy & sci-fi art, particularly in the publishing and film industries. He has worked with major international clients such as Disney, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros, Penguin, The Folio Society, HarperCollins and more. He is best known for his work on the deluxe editions of Frank Herbert’s Dune series (Penguin/Ace), and for the Folio Society edition of Arthur C Clarke’s ‘Rendezvous With Rama’. 

His work has been featured in articles and interviews in The Hollywood Reporter, Tor.com, io9.com, Sci-Fi-O-Rama, Threadless, Slashfilm & more. It has won accolades with The Society of Illustrators, 3x3, Creative Quarterly & ICAD.

He is the author & illustrator of award-winning children’s book series ‘The Ayla Trilogy’ (O’Brien Press) with his 2015 debut novel ‘A Cage of Roots’ named Children’s Book of the Year 2017 by the Literacy Association of Ireland. This was followed by 2016’s ‘Storm Weaver’ and 2017’s ‘The Spiral Path’. 

Matt is also known globally for his work on licensed movie posters, creating highly sought-after ltd edition prints for galleries such as Bottleneck (US) and Vice Press (UK). 

In recents years he has expanded his creative toolset to include 2D & 3D animation, complementing his personal focus on IP world-building & finding new ways to tell stories. This has laid the groundwork for an epic, genre & media-fusing story universe called ‘The Endling Saga’.

Matt lives in Co.Clare, Ireland with his wife and three children.
